Spider-Man: Far From Home

As a huge Spider-Man fan I have been so excited for this movie. I think what Marvel Studios has been doing with Spider-Man has been great. I feel like they really get who Spider-Man is as a character.
Story wise, I love how this movie shows a post snap/endgame world. It gave me answers to things like what happened to the students that were snapped away and the ones who weren't. It shows how the world is still mourning over the loss of Tony Stark. A lot of the story is built around that idea of "who will be the next Tony Stark?" and it works so naturally.
One thing I loved in Spider-Man: Homecoming was Peter's struggle in deciding, do I do what I want to do and hang out with my friends and have a typical teen life or do I do what is right and be a hero? This struggle appears multiple times in Far From Home as well. I think it is a struggle we all find relatable in someway or another.
Tom Holland does such a great job in this role. He sells the Spider-Man who is still young and inexperienced but is ready to step up to the challenge when it is presented to him, especially when it comes to protecting his friends.. I love how this Spider-Man is still learning even after all he's been through in Homecoming, Infinity War and Endgame. He still makes mistakes, sometimes costly ones, but he learns from the experience and grows from them. This Spider-Man is a character who I think is very relatable.
Jake Gyllenhaal kills it as Mysterio. If you have seen any Spider-Man cartoon or have read the comics then you most likely knew from the trailer Gyllenhaal was going to be the villain even though they sold him as a hero. This character I thought was a great villain. Very deceiving, smart and just straight up a bad dude. There were parts in the movie were I was legitimately mad at the character for what he had done.
This movie had some amazing scenes and action pieces but there was one scene in particular that really stood out to me. Now I have only seen the movie once but I can almost say with certainty this scene was my favorite scene in any comic book movie. I almost jumped out of my seat with pure excitement and joy of how cool this scene was.
It comes at the end of the movie when Spider-Man is about to face off against Mysterio and he has to over come Mysterio's illusions. Pete closes his eyes and focuses, trusting his "Peter Tingle" (which I thought it was hilarious in the first place this is was what they decided to call his spidey sense) to fight through the illusions and get to Mysterio. The way the scene was shot, the growth it shows for Peter as a character, the way they decided to show off his spider sense, it all just worked so perfectly.
There was also a great scene between Happy Hogan and Peter that had so much emotional weight. A great heart to heart when Peter is doubting if he is really cut out for the hero life after he messed up, thinking he couldn't live up to Tony's legacy. Happy gives peter great words of encouragement and Pete realizes what he has to do and begins to build his new suit. While Peter is designing the suit and tweaking things, Happy glances over and you can tell Happy sees Tony in Peter and you can tell Happy is just so proud of him.
This movie was amazing. I loved every moment of it. It has great light hearted comedic moments and yet has these serious moments that made me feel the weight of what was at stake. As soon as this movie was over I wanted to go back and watch it again. If you get a chance I highly recommend seeing this one in theaters.
